Punjabi singer and global icon Diljit Dosanjh delighted fans at his Hyderabad concert when he replaced the lyrics of his song, Lemonade, which mentioned ‘alcohol’ with ‘Coke’. The company has now reacted to a video of his performance on Instagram.
The tweak came after the Telangana government directed Diljit to avoid songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence during his performance.
Diljit, known for his witty charm, was quick to adapt to the directives. He recreated the lines 5 tara theke to 5 tara hotel and replaced daaru’ch lemonade with Coke’ch lemonade.
In another hit song, Pehle Lalkare, the singer swapped bottlaan de datt patten with Coke de datt pattne, leaving the crowd roaring with laughter.

The star’s improvisation didn’t just energise the audience but also made Coca-Cola react to the video.
The company’s official India Instagram account commented on the video, writing, “Chautha kaam twade gaane japne [Fourth task is worshipping your songs]!,” accompanied by a smiley and heart emoji.
Several videos of his concert went viral on social media. Diljit could be seen entertaining his audience at the concert while adhering to the government’s directives.
However, the singer didn’t shy away from criticising the Telangana government for its restrictions. Diljit Dosanjh questioned why Indian artists faced such scrutiny when international performers seemed to get a free pass.
